AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL ESTATE AS A SITE II
FOR A NEW WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND NEW WATER STORAGE !ii,
FACILITIES.

WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has embarked upon an expansion of
its water works system, and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of additional real property is necessary
as a site for the construction of a new water treatment plant, and for
new water storage facilities, and
WHEREAS, it is the considered opinion of this Council that the
premises hereinafter described be acquired for such purposes at a
price not to exceed $15, 000. 00, and
WHEREAS, the interest of the general public will be greatly
served by the acquisition of such real estate and the construction of the
improvements thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE. CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the City of Elgin purchase from Sidney J.
Burnidge and Alice Burnidge, his wife, and Clarence D. Burnidge and
Louella F. Burnidge, his wife, for the sum of $15, 000. 00 the following
described real estate, to-wit:
That part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 16, Town-
ship
ownship 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal
Meridian described as follows: Commencing at the cen-
ter of said Section 16; thence Southerly along the West
line of the Southeast quarter of said Section 16 a distance
of 376. 49 feet to a point in said West line that is 350. 0
feet Northerly of the North line of Walter G. McIntosh
and Company's Fox River Farms, a subdivision in part
of the South half of said Section 16; thence continuing
Southerly along the West line of said Southeast quarter
a distance of 350. 0 feet to the North line of said Walter
G. McIntosh and Company's Fox River Farms; thence
Easterly along the North line of said Walter G. McIntosh
and Company's Fox River Farms a distance of 674. 32
