AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ARTICLE XII OF CHAPTER 28 OF THE CITY CODE PERTAINING
TO LICENSING AND REGULATION OF SCAVENGERS AND HAULERS OF ASHES ,
TRASH AND GARBAGE , LIMITING THE NUMBER OF LICENSES TO BE
ISSUED .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN ,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Article XII of Chapter 28 of the City
Code of Elgin be , and it hereby is , amended to limit the
number of Scavenger Licenses to be issued during the calendar
year 1970 to twelve ( 12 ) in number , in the following manner ,
to-wit :
By adding the following additional sentence to
Section 28- 1201 of said Chapter 28.
"The Number of licenses issued under the provisions
of this Ordinance , prior to the calendar year
commencing January 1 , 1971 , shall be limited to
twelve ( 12) in number,
Section 2 . That all ordinances or pats thereof in conflict
herewith be , and they hereby are , repealed and of no further
force and effect .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect fromand after its passage as provided by law , and
shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City
Council .
