G25-02 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FEES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE OF THE CENTRE" BY ADDING AN ALL FACILITY DAILY USE FEE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS : Section 1 . That Section 1 of Ordinance No. G25-02 entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Fees and Charges for the Use of The Centre" passed March 27, 2002 be and is hereby amended by adding the following: ALL FACILITY* Daily Resident/Non-Resident Adult $ 11 . 00 $ 13 . 00 Senior $ 11 . 00 $ 13 . 00 Youth $ 11 . 00 $ 13 . 00 *All Facility shall include fitness center and aquatic center, open gym and the use of racquetball at the non-member court rate . eift Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. Section 3 . FROM: Olufemi Folarin, Interim City Manager SUBJECT: The Centre All Facility Daily Fee PURPOSE The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with information to consider adopting an all facility daily use fee for The Centre of Elgin. BACKGROUND Currently, individuals can visit The Centre of Elgin and utilize various amenities in the facility by paying a daily use fee if they are not Centre members. Daily use fees are currently established for Adventure Island and the Health/Fitness Center. Recently, staff has been provided verbal feedback from individuals visiting The Centre that an all facility daily fee would be desirable for patrons wishing to use both the fitness center and the aquatic center. Currently the fitness center daily use fee is $8 for residents and $10 for nonresidents while the pool daily use fee is $6 for residents and $7 for nonresidents . In lieu of combining these two daily use fees to create the all facility daily use fee of $14 for residents and $17 for nonresidents, staff would propose providing a 20% discount for individuals interested in this all facility drop in option. This fee would be $11 per visit for residents and $13 per visit for nonresidents and would include pool, fitness, open gym and the use of racquetball at the non-member court rate. Once a daily use fee is paid, an individual would have use of the facility for the duration of that day. _ . _ S The Centre All Facility Daily Fee January 17 Page 2 COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED None. Approve an all facility daily use fee of $11 for residents and $13 for nonresidents for The Center of Elgin. III2 . Do not approve an all facility daily use fee for The Centre of Elgin. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve an all facility daily use fee of $11 for residents and $13 for nonresidents for The Centre of Elgin.
