HomeMy WebLinkAboutG16-21 Ordinance No. G 16-21 AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE ANNUAL LIQUOR LICENSE FEE FOR THE RENEWAL OF CERTAIN LIQUOR LICENSES FOR THE 2021-2022 LICENSE YEAR WHEREAS, the expiration date for current liquor licenses issued by the Local Liquor Control Commission of the City of Elgin pursuant to Chapter 6.06 of the Elgin Municipal Code is April 30, 3021; and WHEREAS,the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions relating to such pandemic have severely impacted certain business establishments in the city including local restaurants, bars and other on premises establishments; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, has determined that it is appropriate to waive the annual liquor license fee for the renewal of certain liquor license classifications for the 2021-2022 license year to expire on April 30, 2022, for certain current liquor licenses issued by the Local Liquor Control Commission of the City of Elgin. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That with the exception of the Class B, B1, B2, B4 and B5 liquor licenses, the annual liquor license fee for the renewal of a liquor license for the 2021-2022 license year to expire on April 30, 2022, for current liquor licenses issued by the Local Liquor Control Commission of the City of Elgin is hereby waived. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and publication in the manner provided by law. David f.
