REASONS FOR CHANGE: While working on the exterior clean'ig of the police facility we looked for ways to extend the life of the work being done. It was decided t i at adding a sealer to the masonry after the cleaning should help protect against future moisture and d'i t. Since the masons were on site do- ing the cleaning it made the most sense to apply the sealer immedia ely before the brick could re-soil. With the contractor already on site with lifts and other necessary eq iipment it made the application of the sealer more cost effective than coming in to do it at a later date. • The circumstances said to necessitate the change in perform:mice were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed • The change is germane to the original contract as signed • The change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and authorized by law SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $478,446.00 CHANGE ORDER No. 1 and Final Labor and material to apply sealer to brick $47,09 .89 TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 and Final: ADD ,47,093.89 TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $525,539.89 • The original amount of the contract with F. H. Paschen is$478,446 $0. Change Order No. 1 and final will increase the original contract amount by a total of$47,093.89, ghat sum representing nine and eight tenths percent(9.8%)of the original contract amount. The new contact amount, inclusive of all change orders is$525,539.89. OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisi.ns remain the same. 1 CHANGE ORDER No. 1 and Final Agreed to this 28`"day of November, 2018.
