HomeMy WebLinkAbout17-88 Resolution No. 17-88 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 FOR THE CONTRACT WITH FOX VALLEY FIRE AND SAFETY FOR FIRE ALARM REPLACEMENT WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Fox Valley Fire and Safety for fire alarm replacement; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G. Kaptain, Mayor Presented: June 28, 2017 Adopted: June 28, 2017 Omnibus Vote: Yeas: 9 Nays: 0 Attest: s/Kimberly Dewis _ Kimberly Dewis, City Clerk City of Elgin Chanae Order ELGIN,ILLINOIS PROJECT: M00071 CHANGE ORDER No. 1 CONTRACT: Fire Alarm Replacement(Bid No. 17-002) SCOPE: Upgrade the panel originally specified to accommodate a 3 wire control system and add addi- tional devices as outlined in the plan review performed by FSCI dated March 23, 2017. REASONS FOR CHANGE: Based on a plan review of the final drawings, FSCI recommended several changes before recommending approval of the permit. This change order reflects the changes that were outlined in FSCI's review dated March 23, 2017. The circumstances said to necessitate the change in performance were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed. The change is germane to the original contract as signed and the change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and au- thorized by law. SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $77,610.00 CHANGE ORDER No. 1 Upgrade panel to accommodate 3 wire control Add additional devices per FSCI plan review dated March 23, 2017 TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1: ADD $16,250.00 TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $93,860.00 The original amount of the contract with Fox Valley Fire and Safety is $77,610.00. Change Order No. 1 will increase the original contract amount by a total of$16,250.00, that sum representing twenty one percent (21%) of the original contract amount. The new contract amount, inclusive of all change orders is $93,860.00. OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same.
