Should you have any questions regarding the posting of this cancellation notice, please contact the staff liaison Cindy Walden at 847-931-6776. caw Notice issued on 12/02/11 r • Minutes Property Maintenance Board of Appeals November 6, 2012 The meeting of the Property Maintenance Board of Appeals was called to order at 5:07 p.m. in the North Tower, 2nd floor Conference Room by Chairperson Cox. MEMBERS PRESENT: Jay Cox, Patrick Hines, Patrick Hudgens and Steve Silva MEMBERS ABSENT: Bruce Corn and Gary Lichthardt CITY STAFF PRESENT: Cindy Walden (Secretary) MINUTES: Motion made by Steve Silva to approve the minutes of October 4, 2011, as submitted. The motion was seconded by Pat Hines. Motion passed 3-0. (Abstain: Hudgens) OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Election of new officers for 2012-2013: Motion made by Pat Hines to nominate Jay Cox as chairperson. The motion was seconded by Steve Silva. Motion passed (3-0); one abstain (Cox). Motion made by Pat Hudgens to nominate Steve Silva as vice-chairperson. The motion was seconded by Pat Hines. Motion passed (3-0); one abstain (Silva). r Property Maintenance Board of Appeals—November 6, 2012 Page 2 of 2 r Proposal of 2013 meeting schedule: Motion made by Pat Hudgens to accept the 2013 meeting schedule as proposed. The motion was seconded by Steve Silva. Motion passed (4-0). Status of Board Members: In October 2011,both Gary Lichthardt and Steve Silva agreed to extend their appointment for another 5 year term. The roster currently reflected Steve Silva with a term expiration of 2011. Staff will contact City Clerk's office to have the term changed to reflect an expiration of 2016. Additionally,there remains one (1) vacancy on the board. Current International Codes: On October 24, 2012,the Property Maintenance Code was amended along with several ordinances (building, fire, heating, plumbing, residential, commercial, etc). The Property Maintenance Code is typically available via a link to Sterling Codifiers Inc., from the city's website. Details are found within the Elgin Municipal Code (EMC) under Title 16 (Buildings and Construction), Chapter 12. The chapter will be updated by Sterling Codifiers, Inc.; and are generally completed within a month or so. However, recently passed ordinances can be found listed above the area "Preface"; indicated under"Ordinances Pending Codification". ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn was made by Pat Hudgens. The motion was seconded by Pat Hines. The motion passed unanimously.
