Withdrawn since they received the award two years ago. 4. Mike Powers: for his new book on Elgin in the 1960's. Commissioner Briska moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Chapman, passed unanimously. 5. John Avampato: for restoring his front porch. Commissioner Briska moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Ristow, passed unanimously. 6. Jerry Tumquist: for his"Way Back When" column in the Daily Herald. Commissioner Briska moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Chapman, passed unanimously. 7. Elizabeth Marston: for ten years as Museum Director at the Elgin Area Historical Society. Commissioner Couture moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Chapman,passed unanimously. 8. George Rawlinson: for publishing many books on local history. Commissioner Couture moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Ristow, passed unanimously. 9. Gail Borden Library and EC AIR: for publishing"Elgin: A Women's City." Commissioner Ristow moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Chapman, passed unanimously. 10. David Buck: for researching and nominating Wing Park Golf Course. Commissioner Chapman moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Couture, passed unanimously. 11. Sarosh Saher: for 12 years of service as the city's Historic Preservation Specialist. Commissioner Ristow moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Chapman, passed unanimously. 12. D.C. Cook Task Force: for proposing al alternative plan for the redevelopment of DC Cook publishing buildings. Commissioner Chapman moved to table this nomination until such time that the plan is approved by the city. Commissioner Ristow seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 13. John Anderson and Paul Cayez: for deconverting and rehabilitating many properties throughout the historic districts. Commissioner Briska moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Ristow,passed unanimously. 14. Appellate Court: For preserving a piece of modern architecture. Commissioner Durrenberger moved to approve, seconded by Commissioner Chapman, passed unanimously. F. Other Business. 1. Evelyn Chapman: Commissioner Chapman would like to begin working on installing plaques throughout the city that designate historic sties and buildings. She has been searching websites of other cities for ideas and found several good examples to follow. She proposes to add historic photos next to current ones to the city's website as locations are plaqued. Cost could be put on the building owner as a "you are special", get a plaque, get free publicity or even split with the commission. She is going to work on establishing criteria and has set up a meeting at her house on March 28'" at noon to discuss this project. Commissioner Skaggs agreed to come to the meeting to help get started on this project. G. Correspondence. No items were discussed under correspondence. H. Adjournment: Motion made by Commissioner Durrenberger to adjourn.
