Mr. Gehrman suggested that the Human Resources Director and the Department Head
act as an advisor during the interview process, however, the ultimate decision lies with
the Commission.
Section 8 —Violation of Law — No change
Section 2 — Hearing of Charges — Okay. The Complainant refers to the City.
XII. Conflict
The Collective Bargaining language supersedes the ordinance. The City Council must
approve any ordinance changes
There was much discussion regarding who the interview team should consist of and
whether or not the Department Head should have a vote in the process
Article. Section 1 - Remove the phrase "in the best interest of the City".
. Executive Session
Cmmr Zapata made the motion, seconded by Cmmr. McMullin to adjourn to executive
session at 7:01 p.m. The motion carried 4-0.
Cmmr. McMullin made the motion, seconded by Cmmr. Robbins to return to open
session at 7:52 p.m. The motion carried 4-0.
Cmmr. McMullin made the motion, seconded to approve the proposed changes to Civil
Service Rules and Regulations as discussed. The motion carried 4-0.
Adjournment
There being no further business to discuss, Chair Rouse called for a motion to adjourn.
Cmmr. Robbins, made the motion, seconded by Cmmr. McMullin to adjourn the meeting
at 7:55 p.m. The motion carried 4-0.
