A. Imagercped—

meshing else instead of the comdors and Paul concurred. It was decided that
everyone should come rip with a list of 10 things they like about she city and 10
strings they think need impros cocoa Several pooplemade suggestions on how Elgin
could be Improved. Jennifer asked why there were no bashes in Carlton Park and
Vicki said we need to get rid of all We slogans such as "A City to Watch." Repuns
are due by the next meeting.
B. Image Awards—
Thu date chosen for she 2002 Image Awards is Mulls 190, 2009. Bucky will
emifiun with The Courev Manager Lynn Robbins.
C. BikeRace —
MikePowetsdiscussMtheupeomingbikerace. Besaidarmuungeventoes
going to be added to the days events. Posters are coming soon, and it is also
going to be on WLS radio. In addition, about 100 cable spots that will run. Thcm
is a housing meeting for fourth" who want to "Adopt A lurk", and about 1,000
athletes are registered for the days events. Saturday evening the DNA event will
final the movie "Breaking Away"just after the carbn load eimmr. DNA is
• using the Saturday evening evens as a fund-raiser. Mike asked the Image members
for a donation from the Commission to help off-so( the costs of the movie.
A discussion followed amongst me members as to what we could aRord. Becky
said currently the Image Couurussion has $800 tell in the budget through the end
or December. Sic Moylan, as Co-Chair of the All America City Committee, also
askedfar Ibnding. Sue explained that me city has contributed $15,000 that will
only cover the bus, hotel costs, std some food casts to take the delegates to
Kansas City. More money is needed for the presentation. Each of the tarty
communities that are f alisu, hare only 20 mmrles to make them presentations.
Letters have gone out asking for donations, bur they estimate about $20,000 is
necessary to cover the costs Sue said that the donation did not have be large.
She was huping for $250.
Due to the number of requests we receive for donations, Paul suggested that a
budget be formulated next year figuring in events such as these. A motion was
put forth and seconded by Gregg Guerrero give each event $200.
D. Par orinvitation—
Paul reminded everyone that the lunch with Dick Patrician and tour of the Sleepy
I[allow Ravine was Monday, June 17'" at 11:10 am. Everyurw should RSVP.
