HomeMy WebLinkAboutf - June 10, 2015 LCC ELGIN LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION MEETING June 10, 2015 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kaptain at 4:30 p.m. in Conference Room 208, South Wing of Elgin City Hall. Members present: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Martinez, Powell (arrived at 4:34 p.m.), Rauschenberger (arrived at 4:32 p.m.), Shaw, and Chairman Kaptain. Absent: Commissioners Prigge and Steffen. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Gavin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shaw, to approve the minutes of the May 6, 2015, meeting. Upon a roll call vote: Yeas: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Martinez, Shaw, and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None. Public Hearing on consideration of a Class B Liquor License Application for Rambhadra Inc. d/b/a Armanetti’s Wine and Spirits, located at 920 South McLean Boulevard Assistant Corporation Counsel Christopher Beck provided an overview of the application, noting that the applicant currently hold a Class B license. This application was for a different location and would operate under a different corporate entity. Mr. Beck noted that the required Conditional Use was on the City Council agenda and that staff was recommending approval of the application. There was discussion regarding a violation for underage sales from 2004 and potentially prorating annual and one time fees for the applicant. Commissioner Dunne made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shaw, to approve the application, subject to conditions, for a Class B Liquor License Application for Rambhadra Inc. d/b/a Armanetti’s Wine and Spirits, located at 920 South McLean Boulevard. Upon a roll call vote: Yeas: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Martinez, Powell, Rauschenberger, Shaw, and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None. Consideration of Liquor License Complaint Against The Dolins Group d/b/a/ The Walnut Speakeasy, 214 Walnut Avenue – Proposed Dismissal Order Assistant Corporation Counsel Christopher Beck provided an overview of complaint and the proposed dismissal order. Mr. Beck noted that the criminal matter, the basis of the complaint, had been resolved and the licensee had been found not guilty. Due to this finding it was recommended that the complaint be dismissed. Liquor Commission Meeting June 10, 2015 Page 2 Commissioner Shaw made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Gavin, to approve proposed dismissal order for The Dolins Group. d/b/a The Walnut Speakeasy at 214 Walnut Avenue. Upon a roll call vote: Yeas: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Martinez, Powell, Rauschenberger, Shaw, and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None. Miscellaneous Commissioner Shaw asked for a status on the Gasthaus Zur Linde, Inc discussions as well as the other establishments that had potential issues with their percentage of food sales. Adjournment Commissioner Dunne made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shaw, to adjourn the meeting. Upon a roll call vote: Yeas: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Martinez, Powell, Rauschenberger, Shaw, and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None.
