Home My WebLink Aboutd - April 8 2015 LCC ELGIN LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION MEETING April 8, 2015 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kaptain at 4:30 p.m. in Conference Room 208, South Wing of Elgin City Hall. Members present: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Powell (arrived at 4:35 p.m.), Prigge, Rauschenberger, Shaw, Steffen and Chairman Kaptain. Absent: Commissioner Martinez. Approval of Minutes Commissioner Gavin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Steffen, to approve the minutes of the March 18, 2015, regular meeting. Upon a roll call vote: Yeas: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Powell Prigge, Rauschenberger, Shaw, Steffen and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None. Consideration of Applications for Renewal of Liquor Licenses for the Period of May 1, 2015, through April 30, 2016 Corporation Counsel Cogley reviewed the information regarding the annual renewals. There was discussion regarding the revenue figures for the E-3 liquor license classification and options to simplify the regulations by combining or deleting different license classifications. There were concerns over various establishments’ location of the permitted areas, the safety of patrons, and the types of materials that were used in these areas. Commissioner Gavin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Powell, to table the exterior sales permit for Gasthaus Zur Linde until May 6, 2015. Upon a roll call vote Yeas: Commissioners Gavin, Powell Prigge, Rauschenberger, Shaw, Steffen and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None. Commissioner Gavin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Powell, to approve the remaining exterior sales permits which are detailed in List B from the memo for liquor license renewals for May 1, 2015, through April 30, 2016. Upon a roll call vote Yeas: Commissioners Gavin, Powell Prigge, Rauschenberger, Shaw, Steffen and Chairman Kaptain. Nays: None. LIST C - YOUNG ADULT NIGHT PERMIT Mission/Medusa Commissioner Gavin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Steffen, to approve the young adult night permit which is detailed in List C from the memo for liquor license renewals for May 1, 2015, through April 30, 2016. Upon a roll call vote: Yeas: Commissioners Dunne, Gavin, Powell, Prigge, Rauschenberger, Shaw, Steffen and Chairman Kaptain. There was discussion regarding the location, safety of patrons and pedestrian impact. Adjournment Commissioner Prigge made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Gavin, to adjourn the meeting.
