1. Call To Order – the meeting was called to order at 6:40 pm.
2. Approval of September 1, 2015 Minutes
Commissioner Habun made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by
Commissioner Lara. Minutes approved.
3. Monthly Reports
None
4. Old Business
Diversity Committee Update (standing item)
Chairman Williamson and Commissioner Habun provided an update on the
progress of the sub‐committees. City wide training is being planned.
MLK Committee Update
Commission Habun, Chair of the MLK Celebration Committee, and Commissioner
Khotisene discussed the schedule and plans for the MLK celebration. Plans are
being made for youth to do their own video. The emphasis will be on youth and
family.
Community Conversation Update
Commissioner Habun and Deputy Chief Wolf discussed the previous
police/community conversation at 2nd Baptist Church. Commissioner Lara and
Deputy Chief Wolf discussed the community conversation involving the Hispanic
community at St. Mary’s Church on October 25, 2015 at 2:15pm.
5. New Business
Commissioner Habun suggested the need for a program involving the Black Lives
Matter movement as it relates to All Lives Matter. Commissioners Habun, Jacobs
and Chairman Williamson will explore conducting a program centering around
education.
Adjournment
Commissioner Lara made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner
Khotisene. There being no other business the meeting was adjourned.
