The motion was seconded by Commissioner Roxworthy. The motion passed 6-0 Abstained: Miller UNDER PORCH REPAIR discussion: Dan Miller: Would like to duplicate two of the three corner posts. Due to the area at the base, only the two posts along the face of the porch can be installed. This will continue the symmetry/bulk of the upper and lower portions. The porch has existed for all these years with only one post per corner, but two posts would look better. Harris: Using only one 4x4 post/column on each corner will look wimpy. One larger column will make it look like a deck. By adding the second column, there will be an appearance of bulk. Again, the column will be chamfered and have the same base like the upper portion of the porch. Motion #2 made by Commissioner Briska to recommend approval of the supports in the lower portion of the porch. The motiorrwas seconded by Commissioner Wiedmeyer. The motion passed 6-0 Abstained: Miller CORRESPONDENCE: Update of Tabled Items: Millikan: Jennifer Fritz-Williams will be returning to the committee as of the next meeting. She has requested to provide updated details.to the members at that time. Miller: Some of the properties on the tabled list were cited clue to a violation(s). it seems that sometimes owners will come in and get the permit, but never start the work. l low long is a pennit valid? Millikan: If a property was cited, staff would need to confine the status. Walden: Both COA's and building permits are valid for six (6) months from the issue date. This information is printed on the permit card. With each pen-nit issued, staff explains the process for any pre-inspections and the required final inspection. Millikan: Final inspections are to be requested by the applicant and/or owner when the work is complete. Walden: Many of the permits are not finalized because no one calls for the final inspection. These "open" permits are cleared or noted to the next owner during the Real Estate Transfer Stamp process. COA Log: No discussion
