messages, and order signs. Commissioner Weidmeyer asked how long each message could
be. Mr. Turnquist stated 90 seconds and it could be done in two languages. Commissioners
Briska, Ristow, and Couture volunteered to work with Jerry. A meeting was scheduled for
August 11 at 4pm at the Historic Society Museum. Chairman Briska noted that the effort
should be coordinated with the Image Commission. Jennifer Fritz-Williams said she would
speak with Sue Olafson, the staff liaison to the Image Commission, tomorrow.
F. Other Business.
a. Landmark Designation Ordinance: Chairman Briska stated that the current criteria are
too weak. He volunteered to review other city's ordinances and draft new language.
Additionally, the application packet should be revised. Jennifer Fritz-Williams stated that
after reviewing the language with senior staff, they are in agreement with Bill's plan.
Chairman Briska hopes to have a proposal put together for the next meeting for everyone to
review.
b. Appointment to Design Review Subcommittee: Chairman Briska announced that there
was one opening on the Design Review Subcommittee that needed to be filled by a
commissioner. He nominated Commissioner Weidmeyer to fill that position. It was
unanimously approved.

Motion made by Commissioner Chapman to adjourn.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Ristow.
The motion passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
