BicanicMoeller, Dews and Pickens rnel and came up with following suggestions: 1 . Quarterly forum/lecture series which are open to the public which will focus on different topiceissues. 2. Identify discrimination in the workplace 9. living in a changing community 4. Breaking down banners between different ethic groups The suggestion was made to use local individuals to discuss issues. The suggestion was also made to have seminars on fair hearing issues and working with HUD to provide this Information. The following topics were suggested for discussion by the Commission. 1 . Affordable rental housing 2 Landlord/tenant training. a. How to rent and what to expect 4. Sponsor meetings in conjunction with the Police dept., PADS, and Crisis • Center The first lecture series will be on housing_ The next meeting will be used to identify topics and dates. Monthly Reports The December staff report was provided. Old Business Dr_Mathin Letharrs Jr Hofdav Program Prayer Breakfast is being held on Saturday, January 100 at 9:90 a.m. The Suburban Human Relations Association will be hosting a dinner on Saturday, January 10a. Tickets are still available, please let Dorothy know if you are interested in attending. The speaker for the event will be Jesse White and it is being held at the Hoffman Estates Marriott. The Public program on Sunday, January 1111' is entitled "Rood to Freedom" at 4.00 p.m. at the Hemmen Auditorium •
