David indicated that there Is a housing proposal west of Randall Road that is proposing homes in the 5300,000+ price range. The following developments are doing proposed for Into. far west side. 266 units— Pulte 400 units — Kimball Homes 300 units — Sonnet Builders 400 units — B & B 700 units — Concord Development Downtown project on S. Grave Avenue by Frame Rock 66 Cordes IDO Town homes Chair Scott reiterated that it is the role of the Human Relations Commission to ensure the rights of everyone in the city, and the concerns that may arise so as to intervene. • Chief Miller inquired if there were any special needs for elderly housing, handicapped exception or any other needs- David indicated that the Planning Department would be the department to contact, however, he does not feel that they have such information. The City does have a program available to assist first time buyers in purchasing affordable housing. When questioned as to whether or not the City does a survey to explore the housing market, David indicated that they relyon the builders to explore rhe housing market availability. When compared to other communities, it has been determined that Elgin has affordable housing. Count. Dews inquired if the First Assembly of Graf had proposed the. housing units again. David %ruled that they had not heard anything at this time. He indicated that if the housing site had been proposed for a different location on the property, it would have noted bettac •
