HomeMy WebLinkAboutSeptember 15, 1990 COW CITY COUNCIL RETREAT SEPTEMBER 15, 1990 Councilmembers present at the City Council Retreat, which commenced at 8:30 a.m. , were Councilmembers Fox, Gilliam, Moylan, Popple, Walters, Yearman, and Mayor VanDeVoorde. Absent: None. Staff presentations were made as follows: Introduction Larry Rice Fire/Bis Jack Henrici and Gordon Burkart Police Chuck Gruber Parks and Recreation Ross Ricks and Dave Osborn Planning Roger Dahlstrom The City Council discussed the following: 1 . Conflict between removing abandoned vehicles from the city streets in a timely manner and a city ordinance prohibiting outside storage of vehicles within the city limits. 2. A permanent shelter for the homeless and a united entity to oversee its operation. 3 . Planting grass on the City's property on South Grove Councilman Gilliam made a motion, seconded by Councilman Walters, to request bids for top soil and planting grass on the City' s property on South Grove Avenue, not to exceed $60,000. Yeas: Councilmembers Fox, Gilliam, Moylan, and Yearman. Nays: Councilwoman Popple and Mayor VanDeVoorde. Avenue Meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m. Dolonna Mecum, City -Clerk
