Mayor VanDeVoorde called the meeting together at 7 :00
p.m. , in the Council Conference Room. Members present :
Councilmen Fox, Gilliam, Moylan, Popple , Shales , Walters
and Mayor VanDeVoorde. Absent : None.
Consideration of staff report on Block Grant Proposals .
The City Manager reviewed a summary statement of revenues
and expenditures relative to the Community Development
Block Grant Funding.
Council approved the following proposals for funding:

Staff advised the Council the Basketball Standards
would be removed by the Park' s employees .
Sandy Freeman stated letters would be sent to to the
HAE tenants advising them of the removal of the basketball
standards . Mrs . Freeman further stated her staff is
currently looking into a year round recreational program.
A Youth Committee is currently being created to assist
with this project .
The Historic District request for Save Brick Pavers
and Street Fixtures Painting will be looked into by
staff.

The Stop Sign at S. Gifford and Fulton Streets will
be forwarded to the Traffic Committee for their evaluation.
The Gifford Street Targeted Tree Planting request will
be developed on a fifty-fifty basis between the City
and the residents .
The NHS Office Zoning will be placed on a City Council
Agenda.
Adjournment
Councilman Gilliam made a motion, seconded by Councilman
Fox to adjourn the meeting. Yeas : Councilmen Fox,
Gilliam, Moylan, Popple, Shales, Walters and Mayor
VanDeVoorde. Nays: None .
The meeting adjourned at 8: 05 p.m.
