MINUTES
March 20, 2012
MEMBERS PRESENT: Frank Harshman and David Teas
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
STAFF PRESENT: Raoul Johnston, Steve Bone, Dave Mulcahy, and Tony Lopez
CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson David Teas at 2:07 p.m., in the first floor
conference room.
MINUTES:
A motion to approve the March 11, 2008 minutes was made by Frank Harshman seconded
by David Teas. Motion passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dave Mulcahy raised conversion about garden hoses in icemakers. Commission members
also discussed the sizes of meters being used and also the availability charge that had
been in effect but is not anymore. Highland Woods 1"tap increase from b box up to 1 %".
Raoul said he would write something on letterhead regarding water availability no longer
being assessed on residents.
Discussion was also raised about on fire sprinklers and water pressure.
DISCUSS 2012 INT. PLUMBING CODE (CHAPTER 11), 2012 NATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE
(NFPA 54)AND 2012 INT. ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE BOOKS FOR AMENDMENTS
AND ADOPTION.
Discussion was made between the committee members and staff regarding bushings and
whether they needed to be tapered or not. Committee members also discussed the
sanitary drainage section, drainage system pg. 6 & pg. 7 code sections that Raoul put to
reference the state plumbing code. Frank Harshman said he did not see any problems
with these amendments.
Dave Teas raised conversation on changing bathtubs to showers regarding the 2" p-trap.
Committee members agreed no changes needed to be made to this section.

Discussion was raised between committee members and staff regarding mop sinks and
Dave Mulcahy raised conversation regarding the vacuum breaker.
GAS CODE
Frank Harshman said he had no problem with this section. Frank Harshman asked about
the meter and sprinkler and Dave Teas explained how everything works.
A motion was made by Frank Harshman to approve the amendments to the 2012 Int.
Plumbing Code (chapter 11), 2012 National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54) and 2012 Int. Energy
Conservation Code, seconded by Dave Teas.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Frank Harshman to adjourn the meeting at 3:24 p.m.,
seconded by Dave Teas. Motion passed unanimously.
