HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-42 • Resolution No. 10—42 Illinois Department Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways by Municipality of Transportation Under the Illinois Highway Code • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of the (Council or President and Board of Trustees) City of Elgin ,Illinois, that there is hereby (City,Town or Village) (Name) appropriated the sum of $1,906,084.04 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the purpose of maintaining streets and highways under the applicable provisions of the Illinois Highway Code from January 1,2010 (Date) to December 31, 2010 (Date) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that only those streets, highways, and operations as listed and described on the approved Municipal Estimate of Maintenance Costs, including supplemental or revised estimates approved in connection with this resolution, are eligible for maintenance with Motor Fuel Tax funds during the period as specified above. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk shall,.as soon a practicable after the close of the period as given above, submit to the Department of Transportation, on forms furnished by said Department ,a certified statement showing expenditures from and balances remaining in the account(s)for this period;and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk shall immediately transmit two certified copies of this resolution to the district office of the Department of Transportation,at Schaumburg , Illinois. This provides for the maintenance of various municipal streets from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010 and appropriates $1,906,084.04 of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Funds for the subject section. Additionally, the Estimate of Maintenance Cost in the amount of$1,798,980.00 for maintenance and $107,104.04 for maintenance engineering was also approved as of February 18, 2010. The authorization for expenditure of$1,798,980.00 for maintenance and $107,104.04 for maintenance engineering from the City's Unobligated MFT Account is authorized and will be recorded on the next Monthly Allotment Notification Letter. Our office has noted that the operations which are estimated to cost in excess of $20,000.00 should be accomplished through competitive bidding. The Material Contract Proposals and Contract Proposals should be submitted to this office for approval prior to advertising for bids.
