Present: Cmmr. Alvaro Fernandez David Schmidt, Fire Chief Colin Fleury, Deputy Police Chief Absent: Chair Thomas Aagesen Cmmr. June Wooten
Staff: Tim Bennett The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. by Cmmr. Fernandez.
Approval of the Minutes Deputy Police Chief Fleury made a motion to approve April 18, 2019 minutes. It was seconded by Fire Chief Schmidt. Motion carried 3-0. Fire Chief Schmidt made a motion to approve June 20, 2019 minutes. It was seconded by Deputy Police Chief Fleury. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion on Police Testing Process There will be a potential 64 candidates to be interviewed. Background checks on the candidates were completed and dates need to be scheduled. We had 15 candidates that the department would like to remove. Discussion on those candidates will be done in executive session. Dates were discussed for police officer interviews. Tentative dates are set at July 23rd, August 2, 4, 5, 12, 13 & 15th. Tim advised that that he would follow up with absent commissioners and send out interview list with dates and time by Friday, July 19, 2019. Executive Session
Deputy Chief Police Fleury made the motion, seconded by Chief Schmidt to adjourn to executive at 6:13 pm.
Open Session Deputy Police Chief Fleury made the motion, seconded by Chief Schmidt to return to open session at 6:48 p.m. Deputy Police Chief Fleury made the motion, seconded by Chief Schmidt to remove the discussed police officer candidates discussed in Executive Session from the police officer testing process. Motion carried 3-0 Adjournment Deputy Police Chief Fleury made the motion, seconded by Chief Schmidt to adjourn the meeting at 6:49 p.m. Motion carried 3-0 Respectfully Submitted, Tim Bennett Staff Liaison
