HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-03-2014M BPAC LGIN MEETING MINUTES BICYCLE&PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE Bicycle&Pedestrian Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes June 3, 2014 6:00 p.m. The Centre—West Conference Room Present: Karen Erickson, Darin Anderson,Tom Armstrong, Chris Manheim,Jerry Turnquist Staff: Dave Waden (Planning/Parks& Recreation), Ron Rudd (Engineering) Absent: Scott Magee, Wayne Heinmiller, Robert Soberano (Police) Call to Order: Chair Erickson called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. Approval of Minutes: Manheim made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 6`h regular meeting. Anderson seconded the motion. Approved unanimously. Citizen's Forum: None present. Bicycle Route 1&4: Rudd reported that work on Route 1 should begin shortly. Routing Route 4 past the Fox River, rail lines and Route 20 remains a challenge. 1-90 Update:Armstrong and Waden reported that the Fox River Trail will be closed at some point soon after Memorial Day and remain closed for several weeks while a storm sewer project relate to the 1-90 Tollway expansion is constructed. National Bike Month Wrap-Up:The National Bike Month events were generally successful. Bike.Walk.Move:Elgin Week 2014:The committee reviewed the final schedule for Bike.Walk.Move: Elgin Week. Bicycle Friendly Community Application: The committee agreed to meet for a special work session meeting to continue working on the application.The meeting is scheduled for June 9nd at 6 p.m. at the Gail Borden Public Library. Tour de Museums:The ride will leave from the Public Museum at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday,June 14`h Next Meeting:The next regular meeting of the BPAC is scheduled for Tuesday,July 1"at 6:00 p.m. in the West Conference Room of The Centre.
