Olufemi Folarin, City Manager
FROM: Richard G. Kozal, Assistant Corporation Counsel
SUBJECT: Consent Agenda Item C-14--Resolution Changing the Name of"Rumford
Boulevard" to "Rumsford Boulevard"
Consent Agenda Item C-14 is a resolution renaming a street within the Remington at
Providence subdivision.
It is recommended that the city council approve the resolution changing the name of
"Rumford Boulevard," a misidentified street in the Remington at Providence subdivi-
sion,to"Rumsford Boulevard."
When the final plat of subdivision for Remington at Providence was recorded, a scriv-
eners error on that plat improperly identified the street intended to be named "Rums-
ford Boulevard" as "Rumford Boulevard." "Rumsford Boulevard" extends beyond
Providence at Remington into the adjoining Copper Springs subdivision where "Rums-
ford Boulevard" is correctly identified on the final plat of subdivision for Copper
Springs.
Remington Homes advised the city of the improper street name designation and re-
quested that the city rename the street. Remington Homes has been advised of the pro-
posed resolution and the resolution also requires the city to notify the Kane County
Clerk and the U.S. Post Office's Elgin branch regarding the street name change.
