SUBJECT: Acceptance of the Public Improvements Associated with
the Saint Edward High School Expansion Project
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and
members of the City Council with information to accept public
improvements installed as part of the Saint Edward Central
Catholic High School Building Addition and Parking Expansion
Site Plan.
BACKGROUND
St. Edward' s expansion plans included the installation of a new
building over Perry Street and the extension of the private
parking over the west side of Perry Street . As a condition of
the plan approval, the City vacated Perry Street between Crosby
Street and Locust Street by ordinance No . S14-00 , passed on
December 13, 2000 . The vacation was recorded in Kane County on
February 9, 2001 with No. 2001K011646 .
The public water and sanitary sewer mains had to be relocated
due to the vacation of Perry Street and the new building
construction. St . Edward' s High School provided the necessary
utility easement for their relocation.
Approximately 295 lineal feet of water main was removed and
replaced with 530 lineal feet of new water main. Also,
approximately 310 lineal feet of sanitary sewer was removed and
replaced with 278 lineal feet of new sanitary sewer.
