HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-265 Resolution No. 96-265 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE CONTRACT WITH RON JONES ELECTRIC FOR HEMMENS BUILDING ELECTRICAL SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Ron Jones Electric for Hemmens building electrical services; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described in Change Order No. 1, attached hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that Richard B. We propose to provide electrical material and labor to provide the following. INCLUDED BASE BID 1. One (1) 300 KVA transformer shall be located in the mechanical room on the lower level 2. Transformer feeder wiring shall extend from the existing 480 volt switchboard and connected to an existing spare 3 pole fusible switch which shall be fused at 450 amps. 3. One (1) 1200 amp 3 phase 4 wire with ground 120/208 volt Nema one (1) fused disconnect switch shall be located adjacent to the new transformer on the lower level. This disconnect shall be fused at 1000 amps and the wiring extending from the transformer to the disconnect shall be rated at 1000 amps. 4. Transformer shall be grounded to the nearest point on the existing grounding electrode system however a maximum allowance of fifty feet has been included for routing the new ground conductor. Any additional grounding requirements or additional distance has not been included. 5. Note: The maximum load which can be connected to each phase of this disconnect will be 800 amps however the additional load added to the existing 480 volt switchboard needs to be evaluated. 6. Two (2) 4" empty conduits shall be extended from the stage area to the lower level mechanical room. A pull box shall be mounted above the ceiling. Coring the walls and floors for these conduits has been included. 7. Furnish four (4) Bussmann FRN-R-100 fuse, four (4) Bussmann FRN-R-200 fuse, four (4) Bussmann FRN-R-400 fuse, four (4) Bussmann 2642 fuse reducer kits. 8. Furnish four (4) Bussmann KLU-800 fuse and four (4) Bussmann KLU-601 fuse. 9. Furnish one (1) Bussmann FP-3, one (1-) Bussmann FP-4 and one (1) Bussmann #SFC ALL OF THE ABOVE WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED FOR THE SUM OF $ 26,460.00 ALTERNATE PRICING Alternate #1: Secondary Feeder and Disconnect 1. Extend feeder conduit and wiring from the new 1000 amp fused disconnect located in the lower level mechanical room to stage Right. A non fused 1200 amp 3 phase 4 wire with ground 120/208 volt Nema one (1) disconnect shall be provided at this location. ADD $ 19,800.00 Fax proposal #97-6141 B August 28, 1996 Page 2 NOT INCLUDED 1. Electrical Permit Fees. 2. Commonwealth Edison Charges. 3. Repairs which may be required by coring operation. The above prices, specifications and conditions, including the standard terms and conditions set forth on the reverse, are satisfactory and are hereby accepted. You are authorized to do the work as specified. Request for work to commence prior to receipt of executed proposal shall constitute acceptance of proposal by person so requesting.
