Heiwig, City Manager SUBJECT: Final Acceptance of Slade Pump Station Improve- ments PURPOSE This memorandum will provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with information to consider final acceptance of the Slade pump station improvements . BACKGROUND The City Council awarded the contract of 1993 Slade Avenue facility roadway improvements to Central Blacktop Co. , Inc. , of South Elgin at its August 11, 1993, meeting. The project generally included earth excavation, aggregate shoulders, aggregate base course, bituminous concrete, combination con- crete curb and gutter, bike path construction, overlook and fountain construction, and landscaping and erosion control . Central Blacktop has completed the project in compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by Clark Dietz, Inc . COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED None. FINANCIAL IMPACT The initial contract was awarded for $277,859 .25 . The con- tract amount based on actual measured in-place quantities totaled $221, 172 .55 (a reduction of $56,686 . 70) . Change Order #1, which covers additional changes in the scope of work, amounted to $10,965. 00. The total revised contract amount is $232, 137 .55, or $45,721 .70 less than the awarded rk amount.
