RESOLUTION
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE ELGIN HISTORIC DISTRICT
LIGHTING PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that it hereby appropriates the sum of $48,000 of
General Obligation Bonds, Series 1992, to pay the City of
Elgin's share of the cost of all preliminary engineering
required for installation of street lighting on Villa, State,
Park and Center Streets, and will appropriate additional
funds, if required, to cover the City' s total cost.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk shall immediately
transmit two certified copies of this resolution to the
district office of the Department of Transportation, at
Schaumburg, Illinois.

SUBJECT: Resolution Appropriating Funds for the
Elgin Historic District Lighting
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information
regarding a resolution requested by IDOT for funding of the
Elgin Historic District Lighting Project.
BACKGROUND
Late Monday a representative from IDOT called the City and
stated that in order for the Historic District Lighting
grant proposal to proceed, a separate resolution
appropriating the $48,000 for engineering needed to be
adopted by the City Council . This amount was included in
the engineering agreement already approved by the City and
forwarded to IDOT. In order to keep the project moving, a
resolution is attached for the Council ' s consideration at
tonight's regular meeting.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The City's 20% match for the project will be funded from
the •92 GO Bond issue, Fund 392 .
