Background: On or about February 17, 1993 the City of Elgin Fire Department responded to a fuel spill within the confines of the City of Elgin. The spiller was billed for services amounting to Three hundred sixty-five dollars and three cents (;365.03) . Star Delivery and Transfer, Inc. has submitted a release form which requires the signatures of the appropriate City Officials. According to the City Legal department, the Mayor and City Clerk are the appropriate parties. The release is included with this memorandum. Before the release can be signed a resolution must be adopted. The resolution, in brief, releases Star Transfer and Delivery, Inc. for clean-up expenses associated with the above mentioned spill. The Resolution is included with this memorandum. Financial Impact: The $365.03 will not be released from Star Delivery without a release. Recommendation: That the Mayor and City Council adopt the Resolution and upon doing so, the Mayor and City Clerk sign and witness the release elk form for Star delivery and Transfer, Inc. Cogley, Assistant Corporation Counsel SUBJECT: Hazardous Materials Expense Recovery Pursuant to your request, attached find a Resolution authorizing execution of a release from Star Delivery and Transfer, Inc. regarding expenses recovered for a hazardous materials clean-up. Please note that I have revised the release by deleting the reference to the Elgin Fire Department in the second paragraph and inserting in lieu thereof the City of Elgin.
