PURPOSE: This memorandum will provide t e Mayor and Council
with information to consider confirming he contract with Walker
Parking Consultants, Inc. to perform con truction engineering

BACKGROUND: The City Council awarded the the engineering
contract to Walker Parking Consultants tp prepare plans and

eft structure was awarded to Illinois Hydraulic on August 12, 1992
at a cost of $513,000. The work on this project began on August
31, 1992 .
The City Council Agenda Memorandum which authorized the
Agreement with Walker Parking Consultant's, did not mention the
provision of construction engineering selrvices. However, the
actual Contract entered into with Walker included construction
engineering services. The contract estimated that 252 hours of
construction engineering and inspection (would be required.
The intent of this memorandum is to bri g to City Council 's

believe that about 450 hours of inspection will be required at a
cost of approximately $25,000.
