BACKGROUND: The design of the Northwest Corridor Water Main Phase I is complete and ready for bid. As part of the permit process it is necessary to secure the permission of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to cross under its right-of-way. (P. This crossing will be directly north of the Alft Lane water tower. This water main is designed to serve the area north of the tollway along the Randall Road corridor. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cost of insurance and bonds for this work will be included in the contract documents for the work provided by the successful bidder for the construction of the water main. The authority requires a review fee of $1,700.00 and an annual maintenance fee of $500. 00 payable at the time of application. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the Mayor to sign the "Application For Permit To Use Toll Highway Right-Of-Way" with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and tha the applicable fees be paid. Applicant is requesting permit approval to construct, install , operate, and maintain 290 lineal feet of 16-inch water main, encased in a 30-inch steel casing pipe augered and jacked, as shown on the attached plan and profile drawings which are made a part of this application. 4111) (2) Location of Toll Highway Right of Way to be used by Applicant: Northwest Tollway (a) Tollway Route 0-90) (e) County Kane (b) Tollway Mile 27'2 + (f) Nearest Cross Road Randall Road (c) Tollway Station 2180+00 to the East (d) Sec. 30 Twp. 42 _ N., R. 8 E. (g) (3) The Applicant attaches hereto and makes a part hereof plans and specifications of structure which use Toll Highway Right of Way. Applicant agrees to furnish such additional plans and specifications of structure as the Authority may request. In the event a permit is issued, applicant agrees to construct such work in accord with the plans and specifications submitted to and approved by the Authority. (4) The applicant further agrees and understands that the concession in the form of a permit herein requested, if issued, does not sell, lease, create an easement, or otherwise dispose of or encumber the Toll Highway Right of Way, or any part thereof, and does not create any charge or lien on the revenues of the Toll Highway. (5) The applicant further agrees that, in the event a permit is granted, applicant will, before All) commencing work under the permit, comply with all the Utility Policy & Regulations as adopted by the Authority on August 31, 1972 as amended and the acceptance, notice, bond and insurance requirements of the Authority, as set forth in the permit. —1- 10/79
