Bell Page 5 of 5 Lc5-:r E Agenda Item No. November 7, 1990 To: Mayor and Members of City Council From: Larry Rice, City Manager Subject: Golf Professional Employment Agreement PURPOSE: To request that the 1991 Golf Professional 's Employment Agreement be approved. BACKGROUND: The Golf Professional 's Employment Agreement has been submitted to, and approved by the Legal Department relative to terminology. I also have reviewed the agreement and have no problems with it. The basic variation from previous contracts relates to a nine- month work year due to the heavy work load and the exceptionally long hours required during the professional season. Rick Bell has done an exceptional job and worked 12 months instead of 8 months to become knowledgeable about the requirements of the position and begin to upgrade the quality of services offered. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The 11% per year salary increase has been included in the Parks and Recreation Department/Golf Division budget. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the 1991 Golf Professional 's Agreement by approved. 11111 Lar + -i e ty Manager r
