Maim City Of Elgin 150 Dexter Court Elgin, Illinois 60120 Dear Bob: We are making good progress on the "Foundry Project" and the many activities are beginning to came together. I understand that the closing of the land went as scheduled, and that the administrative details are being finalized as we speak. In the effort to bring you up to date on the various phases, let me update you as follows: Asbestos Abatement/Clean-up - A great deal of work went into the preparation of a "scope of work" document, however, it is complete. - A list of potential bidders was developed and a pre-meeting walk through is tentatively scheduled for the week of February 19. - Upon the meeting, and an on site walk through, the bids will be issued. - We hope to be on line with a contractor, 3/1/90. Demolition - Same as "clean-up", we hope. Same clean-up contractors also do demolition so the eventual bidder for both phases may be the same. We are finalizing the interior design and layout of our new Cooler and several options are being costed. If at all possible, I would like to request a four week extension to the March 1, 1990 "Final Plans and Specifications" date. The reasons for this include: - More time spent on the Clean-up activities than we originally thought. - More time in surveying the Foundry Foundation (as it impacts our building location). - Several changes to the interior mechanical layout being considered. - Need to see final plans on the Storm Sewer Project. - This phase completion date was the only date not triggered by the "closing date" in the Development Agreement. City Of Elgin Page 2 If at all possible, we would like until April 1, 1990 to submit all the "permits- requesting" final plans and-specifications. Please advise me as to our requested extension, and I will continue to advise you on our progress. Sincerely, Wayne Aan Wart General Manager Van den Bergh Foods WVW:clg
