RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF A PORTION OF FOX LANE TO ALFT LANE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the public street known as Fox Lane from Randall Road to its western terminus be and the same is hereby redesignated and renamed Alft Lane. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all City signs and maps shall be altered to read Alft Lane at the aforesaid places. 820 VOLUME LIV BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give written notice to the election authorities having jurisdiction in the area in which the street name is hereby changed and to the post office branch serving that area by certified or registered mail. Consideration of I990 Proposed Golf Rates The Parks and Recreation Board recommended a five percent increase in golf rates to offset increased operational expenses. It is recommended that a fifteen percent increase be established for non-resident golfers. Consideration of the Renaming of a Certain Portion of Fox Lane Fox Lane, west of Randall Road, should be renamed due to the realignment of Fox Lane, east of Randall Road. Mayor VanDeVoorde will contact E. C. Alft to seek his permission to name the road after the past mayor. Consideration of a Traffic Committee Recommendation Regarding Parking Restrictions on Melrose The Principal of Highland Elementary School requested parking restrictions on Melrose Avenue to provide parking for additional school buses. Councilwoman Moylan made a motion, seconded by Councilman Fox, to approve the recommendation. Yeas: Councilmen Fox, Moylan, Popple, Shales, Walters and Mayor VanDeVoorde. Nays: None.
