date for the subject project shall each be extended 145 days. The
substantial completion date shall be extended from November 7, 1983
to March 31, 1984 and the final completion date for all work under
the contract shall be extended from January 6, 1984 to May 30, 1984.
Item 2. The Contractor shall provide adequate covering of the
recarbonation basin and one primary basin to prevent them from
freezing during the winter months. The coverings shall provide
sufficient access to the basins to allow the Owner to maintain
proper operation and maintenance of the basins. The locations
and arrangement of all points of access to the basins shall be
acceptable to the Owner.
Item 3. The reconditioned CO2 storage tank manufactured by Liquid
Carbonic Corporation and furnished and installed under this contract
shall be acceptable. The acceptance of the reconditioned storage
vessel for one of all new construction shall include a credit of
$700.00 to the Owner for this substitution. .All other conditions
of the contract documents regarding this equipment shall remain the
same.
REASON FOR CHANGE.
Item 1. The extension of time is due to additional work added
under Change Order No. 1 and failure of equipment suppliers to
meet promised submittal and delivery dates. The additional basin
work included under the previous change order has required addi-
tional time to complete. Delays in some equipment deliveries
have been beyond the control of the Contractor.
Item 2. Manpower limitations will limit the manned operations of
the West Side Plant to 8 hours per day until the improvements which
will provide continuous 24 hour operation with remote monitoring
have been completed. The protective coverings will prevent the
basins from freezing during periods the plant is not in operation.
