Re: Riverside Parking Deck Landscape Development
Dear Mr , Roll:
John R. Cook Associates would be pleased to provide the following
professional services for the Riverside Parking Deck Area :
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
I . John R. Cook Associates will provide the following professionJl
services :
^.) Preliminary Landscape Development 131.111
1. Structural gtudy to determine actual stress and
weight limits to be provided by the city and is not
a part of the Landscape Architect 's fee .
2. Planting plan concept .
3 . Site features - benches, trash receptables, kiosk,
signs, sculpture, pots, etc.
4. Preliminary cost estimate
B) Design Development & Construction Documents - With the
City of Elgin approval of the preliminary landscape
development plan, John R. Cook Associates would develop
in detail the items mentioned in Paragraph A .
1 . Planting Plan
2. Planting Details
3. Site features details
4. Final cost estimate .
C) Construction Administration
1. Field selection of plants and other materials as needed.
2. Periodic site inspections as work progresses.
3 . Final inspection of work.
4. Approval of contractor 's payment requests.

II. Based on the services listed in Part I, the fee schedule shall be:
A) The Preliminary Plan (Part I-A) :
1 . Shall be completed on an hourly basis not to exceed
Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars ($850.00) .
2. The hourly rates shall be
Principal $25.00/hour
Landscape architect 20. 00/hour
Draftsman 12. 50/hour
B) The design development construction documents and construction
administration work (Parts I-B&C) shall be done on a hourly
basis not to exceed the following percentage fee schedule:
1. Construction Cost (Min) $10,000 - 13 . 5% _ $1,350.00
2. 15,0 '0 - 12. 5% = 1,875.00
3 . - 20,000 - 12 . 0% = 2, 400.00
C) Monthly progress payments will be billed on the first of
each month. Payments to be received thirty days after billing.
D) Reimbursable expenses to include actual expenditures made by
John R. Cook Associates in the interest of the project for
the following items:
1. Vehicle mileage at 150 per mile .
2. Long distance telephone calls.
3 . Reproduction of plans and written materials .
4. Other expenses at approval of Owner .
E) Termination of Agreement - This agreement is terminated if
and when the agreement between the City of Elgin and John
R. Cook Associates is terminated in writing by either party.
In the event of termination, John R. Cook Associates shall
be paid for services performed to termination date, including
reimbursable expenses to and including the day of termination.
If you are in agreement with the above mentioned procedures , please
sign both copies of this letter and return one to our office .
